View Article  Dream Diary - A monster that chews arms off

I dreamt that there was this poltergeist/vampire thing that was usually invisible but could then materialise unexpectedly (whereupon it looked like a classic vampire). I was in a large classroom/studio with a number of other people and it suddenly appeared and whizzed around the room picking people up and biting/ripping them apart. Then it chewed one guys arms off, at which point we all ran out screaming.

A day past...and we all trembled in fear of when they horrible mysterious animal would appear again. I decided to leave town, and we just fleeing when dusk was falling, whereupon the monster appeared again, screaming with teeth bared and grabbed me, carrying me off. I really didn't want my limbs munched off...and it just started to break one of my legs when I forced myself awake, and I was still so freaked that I actually had to sit with the lights on for a minute or two to convinced myself that I was back in reality.

Horrible!

Hello again!

You may have been wondering where I’ve been. Well basically, I disappeared down to London for a month to do a Film making course. I left at the end of September and I’ve only just got back. Now I’m dazed and confused…it’s been a sufficient length of time for me to mostly forget what my house was like and I’m certain I’ve forgotten how to drive. A long time ago Mum used to take me over to see my Grandparents in Lincoln and we’d go for the entire summer holidays aka 2 months or more and when I came back I had the same feeling as I do now i.e. that home is familiar, but I’m also seeing it with new eyes again. Thank god I cleaned up before I left so at least my first thought was ‘Oh it’s not as untidy as I thought’ (my second thought being ‘Jeezuz isn’t my garden over grown!’).

Why Film making? God knows…probably the thought process went something along the lines of ‘Well I’m tinkering with animation and script writing at the moment, maybe I should learn a bit about the film making process to help my writing’. Why London? Because Oop North is a cultural desert else I would have stayed at home to do it – though it was quite interesting to stay in London for something more than a weekend for once and learn the rhythms of the city. Now I’m back, I’m still very glad I did it, though it is right up there with “Going to Australia on my own”, Vole surveying and Dry stone walling as one of the dafter things I have ever chosen to do.

But anyway. I’ll have to start doing retrospective posts to try and capture the goings on of the month, though memories are already fading slowly….can’t let this particular experience go unblogged though. And check out all the pics from the course in my photo albums…
